The Novotel Canary Wharf is located in the heart of Canary Wharf within a short distance from the Canary Wharf Tube offering you DLR and underground services. With such amazing transport links you are able to get all around London with ease. There are plenty of great bars and restaurants near the hotel.
Value for money- ★★★★☆
As you enter the stylish hotel you are greeted by trendy decor themed reception, all the decor throughout the hotel is modern and stylish.
The check in process is relatively quick, I believe you are even able to check in online before you arrive but, we did not do that. Having already stayed here before we didn’t need any briefing so we got our room key and headed up to the 15th floor. Our previous stay, we stayed higher up on the 25th floor so I wasn’t expecting great views, but WOW, I was very shocked at the views we had when we walked into our room!
Our room was amazing, with that view how could I say anything otherwise? I wish I could wake up to those views every day! The bed was super comfortable with a range of different pillows, it was lush. The room came with a few drinks such as 2 bottles of water and then the tea and coffee facilities however, considering the price we paid I would have expected to get more than 2 small bottles of water for a 2 night stay.
The bathroom was lovely and spacious, the glass by the shower is clear so you can see through it, but you are able to frost it over with the button in the shower. There is a 55” smart TV which is great as we were able to connect our tablet to it and watch Netflix, but in all honesty I was looking out at the view most of the time!
There is plenty of storage space within the room and amenities such as an iron, hairdryer and a safe. Wifi is free and very fast which is great if you have work to do.
Located on the 39th floor Bokan restaurant has 360 views of London! Sipping cocktails and looking at the city lights, what a perfect way to spend an evening.
As we are silver members of Novotel we are able to get 2 free drinks so we headed up to the bar on Friday night and wow, it was packed! The music was so loud it was almost like a club and it took quite a while to be served. There also was no space to sit by the window which was disappointing so we decided to take our drink back to our room.
Breakfast was £25 per person per night which, personally I think is ridiculous, but we paid it anyway. The views are stunning as you eat breakfast and we did enjoy it. The breakfast consists of a continental breakfast and a cooked breakfast with pancakes, bacon, sausage, egg etc. Is it worth the price? Definitely not and I would suggest if it is suitable you could head into Canary Wharf to grab breakfast, there is plenty of restaurants such The Breakfast Club. There is a small coffee shop on the ground floor by reception where you could have breakfast if you want it offers croissants etc.
The hotel has a swimming pool, sauna and gym. We didn’t use these facilities but we had a look and it looked lovely.
The hotel is beautiful, modern and stylish with fantastic views. Yes, it is pricey for a Novotel hotel, but that is going to be the case when it is located in Canary Wharf. I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a weekend to relax, be in the city of London and have fantastic views!
We have stayed in a lot of Novotel hotels from Brentford, Greenwich, Excel, Wembley and one in Paris, but Canary Wharf has been the best so far! Novotel is our favourite hotel chain, for the price you pay and the quality you receive you definitely cannot go wrong, we love them!
