Originally, Bubble Tea comes from Taiwan, it is a drink made by blending a tea base with milk, fruit and fruit juices, then adding the signature jelly balls such as tapioca pearls that sit at the bottom.
Having never tried bubble tea when we saw the menu, we was a little overwhelmed by what flavours to get but the lovely Nicole allowed us to try some of the different jelly/juice balls that you can have in the drink. Traditionally, the Tapioca ball is what was used which personally, we didn’t love but it was a great experience being able to try all different flavours.
I opted for a milky bubble tea and got Vanilla flavour with Strawberry jelly balls which was delicious and Ty had the Strawberry fruit tea with Lychee jelly balls and again it was delightful, I think the fruit tea might be my favourite over the milky tea. I couldn’t believe I had been missing out on these drinks for so long, we’ll definitely be heading back to try more flavours.
If ever you are in the Shoreditch area and want to try Authentic Bubble Tea, somewhere to relax and do work or just to meet some great people and have a chat Quaker Street is the place to go. Quaker Street do incredible community work and have exciting things lined up for the future. Don’t forget to look out for the co-working space launching at the end of 2018, we’ll definitely be heading down there to get some work done.
