We recently visited Paris for the weekend and we fell in love with it! We stayed at the Novotel Paris 17 which is in the Porte d’Asnières area, its a great location with easy access to public transport . We located ourselves around on the Metro which was pretty simple, it is relatively cheap as a single metro ticket was roughly €1.90.

Here are some ideas of things to do and see whilst your in Paris!

Eiffel Tower

You can’t not go to Paris and not go and see the Eiffel Tower! This was our first time in Paris so we definitely wanted to see it and yes, it is as beautiful as you see in the movies especially when it lights up at night. There are many of different spots that you can view the Eiffel Tower from such as Sacré Coeur, Notre Dame and Trocadero. We mainly stayed around Champs de Mars as it is a beautiful area and as the sun was out we sat on the lawns and relaxed.

River Seine

If you are in the Champ de Mars area, it is a great location to be by the River Seine, when we visited it was a sunny day so we strolled across the bridge and found somewhere to have lunch!  There are plenty of river cruises in the area that will take you along the river if that is something you are interested in.

TOP TIP- As picturesque as this area is, it is full of a few scammers! They mostly stand in the street and are playing a magic/game situation in which you guess what cup the money is under. They let you join in and you start to guess correctly so, then they ask you to give some money and so that you win double unfortunately, whilst we were busy looking for money they switched the cups and we lost. They all work as a group and we witnessed it happening to a few tourists, so be careful and do not get involved!

Paris is known for some of the most iconic designer stores, we headed to Avenue Montaigne/ Champs-Elysées where you can find stores such as Chanel, Dior, Hermes, Balenciaga and so on. We window shopped in all the dreamy stores and then we headed to Sephora to pick up some goodies that we can’t get in the UK (the face masks are my favourite). If shopping isn’t something you want to do walking around the streets is great, some of the streets are so beautiful!

Laduree is also located in this area and you MUST go, not only are the macrons the best we have tasted but, the store itself is beautiful you can go in and eat in there.

On our last day in Paris we went to Disneyland! The only word I have to describe Disneyland with is magical, we highly recommend you go, it’s a great experience and you can get majority of rides done in a day (if you are lucky and it’s not too busy). Although, Disneyland was quite far away from where we were staying it was very easy to get there by public transport. We have a ‘Disneyland Paris One Day Top Tips’ blog post so check it out if you want any tips!

Obviously, Disneyland may not be for everyone, but there are plenty of other museums and great things to do in Paris such as The Louvre, Musée D’Orsay and Sacré-Cœur.

AllTheRooms has some great information such as a price index which will show you what time of year is expensive/ less expensive to travel, this can help you plan your trip in an affordable way! They also have a great range of accommodation so you could find somewhere to stay. Check them out here

We hope to go back to Paris in the near future and explore even more!
