Fuerteventura is one of the Canary Islands and with so much to do, we narrowed it down to our ‘must do’ if you are visiting the Island. Have a read and see what you plan to do on your next adventure!
For all the nature and animal lovers, Oasis Park is for you!
Oasis Park is a zoo located in Jandia, which is in the south of Fuerteventura but wherever you are on the island we highly recommend you go. Oasis Park is home to more than 3000 animals and 250 different species, there is a huge variety of birds, reptiles and African animals, living as close to their natural habitat as possible. The zoo also offers ‘experiences’ which include sea lion, lemur and safari, we did the safari experience which was a camel ride and it was truly spectacular!
The best thing about the zoo is how close you are able to get to the animals, throughout the zoo there is food bags which you can purchase in order to feed the animals the correct food, it allows you to get an up close experience, we were able to feel the giraffes and camels, it was a great experience.
There is plenty of facilities including restaurants and souvenir shops located throughout the park, you can always find somewhere cool down and relax away from the sun if necessary. Oasis Park I would say, is the best zoo we have ever been to, with such a wide range of animals to see up close its an experience we will never forget! We cannot recommend Oasis Park enough so be sure to head down there if ever you are in Fuerteventura.
There is no better way to cool off from the hot sun than having fun at a water park!
Acua is located in Corralejo in the north of the island, it is the only water park on the island so of course it can get pretty busy, but none the less it’s a perfect spot to have plenty of fun and relax. The water park is bursting with a range of attractions from wave pools, slides and the relaxing lazy river, the park is great for everyone from children to adults. Within the park there is a shop where you can hire rubber rings and buy souvenirs which includes professional photographs which are taken whilst you enjoy your time at the park, perfect for saving great memories, there is also lockers and changing facilities available to use. Once you have used all your energy running around the park there is plenty of food services where you can eat, drink and relax!
Acua Water Park is open 10am – 6pm in peak season, but opening times do vary out of season so check before you go. A standard 1-day ticket is priced €25.00 for adults, €19.00 for children and €19.00 for seniors. We had a fantastic day at Acua Water Park and would highly recommend visiting if you are on holiday in Fuerteventura, it is a fantastic day out for people of any ages!
For the petrol heads and adrenaline junkies, this one is for you!
